I promised myself I would eat healthy food on this trip and what's the first thing Drew and I do this morning?- go to McDonald's of course! Oh well, when life hands you cheeseburgers- either eat them or throw them at the inevitable stampeding PETA peeps. Did I tell you we had a show last night. We had a show last night and it was nothing short of an orgy with thousands of beautiful librarians that 12 year old boys fantasize of, except no reading was involved. Haaa! I have no idea when the last time we updated this was but I- Scott- will be guiding you for a while because I have accepted the responsibility of entertaining you instead of ebaumsworld, myspace, and youtube. Yes you know you have one of those windows minimized in the toolbar.
So the show was seriously great. We were excited all week to get this week-long tour started and we played well and I think I sang well considering the monitors were as powerful as a plastic bag. We played some songs off the album and some new songs that aren't on the album. We debuted two songs, Remember Me, and Background. And now the three of you reading this are contemplating all possible chord progressions that might bring these songs to life in your head- well your wrong it doesn't sound like ANYTHING you've ever heard before because we have 0 influences and are completely original. I'm just kidding... we listen to the Beatles... duh.
So after the show we went to a restaurant and saw a Charlize Theron look-a-like. I'm using tons of dashes------- there no more. Drew used to work at Pita Pit and I always wish he would jump behind the counter and whip me up a pita. It sounds like something Tom Cruise would do before he got all chemically imbalanced. It would be a big well warranted fuck you to the whole establishment, in my opinion at least. Chris and I have a beef with the manager.
If this is a long journal it's because I'm sitting in the back of the car listening to OIngo Boingo and avoiding Ben's superfluous demands. So we got back to our house in Oxford and I showed Drew my new room setup. I quickly ran to the bed and jumped on it with kitten like feet to show him not only how sturdy the bed was but also how all my years in modern interpretive dance class paid off. Drew the plunged onto the bed to test just how sturdy the bed was and the boxspring collapsed through the slates. Plenty happened that night- you will just have to be there next time.
Now we are heading to the Apple store in COLUMBUS to play an acoustic instore show. Steve Jobbs is actually coming with contracts for the new I-pod which will feature us and the "Golden I-Pod". That's actually complete bullshit. But we are playing a show. Then on Sunday we play in Pittsburgh where we will be sure to represent the nasti nati. On Wednesday it's New York, Jess turns 21 and will be drinking water all night Cathy... Friday it's Chicago. This is my personal favorite place. I like it because as a kid I remember hearing that song by Frank Sinatra, "My Kind of Town", and I could dance among the streetlights singing the chorus. You know, " Each time I roam Chicago, Chicago is calling me home. Chicago is why I just grin like a clown..." The man with perfect pitch my mom used to tell me. I don't have perfect pitch. I don't have a tour bus. And I don't have herpes.I'll check back in with you at the kiddy coral soon enough. Until then eat your plums and listen to Marking Twain....
